At the Orlando Science Center their mission is to inspire science learning for life by creating prosperity in the Orlando Community that enhances lives. This award-winning science museum has been around for 60 years bringing science to life. There is always something exciting and new happening here, with four floors of interactive exhibit halls, labs and workshops, theaters and an observatory.
Exhibits and Activities
Everywhere you look at the Orlando Science Center you will find educational and entertaining opportunities to explore, experiment and discover. Some of the highlights include:
- Kids Town: Designed especially for children ages 0-7, little scientists are encouraged to make small discoveries and explore. Located on level 2, Kids Town has over 11,000 sq ft of skill based learning.
- Kinetic Zone: Challenge your own creations and let your inner engineer shine through. This exhibit offers an electrifying array of interactive guest experiences, ranging from launching air rockets, to experimenting with circuits, to lifting yourself off the ground with different pulley systems.
- Dino Digs:Step inside this prehistoric world of dinosaurs and marine reptiles. Encounter giant fossil replicas of ancient sea creatures and dinosaurs, as well as authentic fossils found right here in Florida.
- Tiny Green Home: Learn how to make a difference through recycling and sustainability in the Tiny Green Home. A few educational benefits are energy and water conservation, vehicle electrification, composting and so much more.
- Earth Matters: Identify, track, and calculate your average daily carbon footprint. Find out how much water is used in the production of a single chocolate bar. Conduct an experiment to learn how warm, cold and salty water interact. Earth Matters is fully interactive and inspires the next generation of innovators to find new answers to Earth’s greatest questions.
- Flight Lab: Climb into the cockpit and experience the exhilarating life of a pilot. The lab contains 13 flight simulators where you learn to communicate and work as a team.
Plan Your Visit
To best manage capacity, tickets are purchased in advance and a time slot is chosen. There is a cafe and coffee shop located within the Orlando Science Center, but you are also welcome to bring your own food. There is a parking garage located on the second level, and a vehicle charging station on the ground floor.
