In 2018, Dr. Altan Kihm & Dr. Morvarid Moini Kihm, also known as Dr. M&M opened up Pearl Pediatric Dental. Located in the heart of Melbourne, Florida at 1035 N. Apollo Blv, they pride themselves in making your children’s dental appointments a positive experience. Pearl comes from Dr. Morvarid’s first name, which means ‘pearl’ in her native language.

- Preventative Care
Prevention can include regular cleanings and checkups, radiographs as needed, fluoride varnish application, sealants and Silver Diamine Fluoride.
- Restorative Treatment
Small cavities are monitored and teeth that need to be treated are done so with tooth colored fillings or caps for larger decays. These treatments provide stable restorations until proper tooth exfoliation occurs.
- Space Maintenance
Baby teeth play a very important role in maintaining space until permanent teeth are ready to erupt. Space maintainers are provided during early loss of baby teeth to guide permanent tooth eruption.
- Nitrous Oxide
Happy air, also known as nitrous oxide or oxygen inhalation, is used as necessary. It is a safe and effective technique used to reduce anxiety, provide pain relief and enhance care and communication. For certain procedures when nitrous oxide is used, children are not required to use anesthetics.
- Sedation
When children are anxious, fearful and unable to cooperate with certain procedures, sedation may be considered as an option. In-office Oral Conscious Sedation and IV Sedation are also provided as needed.
- Tongue and Lip Tie Revisions
Dr. Kihm specialized in diagnosing and treating tethered oral issues like lip and tongue ties. His experience has proven to have effective outcomes for feeding, speech and maternal comfort with little to no re-treatment required.
