About Space Coast Doulas
The Space Coast Doula Co-op brings together a diverse group of doulas who offer various services to their community. Entirely women-run, each doula brings their unique training, experience, and skills to the organization, so whatever traits or specialties you are looking for, you’ll be able to find someone that checks all of your boxes! Plus, the co-op provides unique mentorship opportunities for their team to work collaboratively and continuously learn from one another.
Services
Each Space Coast doula brings unique skills, experiences, and services to the organization, so you’ll want to get to know each one to determine who may be the best fit for your experience. Their birth doulas will work with you throughout your pregnancy to ensure you have the information and education you need to confidently make decisions regarding your wellness and birth.
Your doula will help you create a birth plan. Then when it comes time for your labor and delivery, they’ll be by your side to provide support and comfort. Whether you need positive reinforcement and encouragement, or someone to stroke your back and massage tired muscles, your doula supports and empowers you.
Space Coast Doula’s postpartum doulas play a similar role only after your baby has made their grand entrance. They’ll provide extra support at home. So you and your partner can get some much-needed rest, spend more time bonding with your baby, and worry less about housework and other time-consuming tasks.
Postpartum doulas will help with feedings and diaper changes, light housekeeping, and even preparing meals for you and your partner. Basically, a postpartum doula is there to help make your transition into life with your new baby a little bit easier for everyone.
Specialty
With so many unique skills and personalities at Space Coast Doulas, there are plenty of specialty services available! They offer tons of childbirth education to help prepare you for labor and delivery. As well as opportunities to learn and practice other relaxation techniques like Rebozo. A technique that uses a long scarf for benefits like pain relief and fetal repositioning. Spinning Babies techniques also make sure your baby is in an optimal position for delivery.
Plus, there are plenty of creative ways to mark this amazing journey in your life. Like belly casting, henna, and birth art.
Several doulas are also Lactation Specialists for mamas and babies who may be struggling with breastfeeding. They also offer massage therapy to ease aching muscles. In addition, they provide placenta encapsulation to harness the holistic benefits your body has provided your baby, and much more.
