When it comes to building your birth team, doulas are the secret ingredient. While doulas are different from medical providers, their goal is to make sure you’re emotionally and mentally equipped for childbirth. You can also choose to have a postpartum doula after your baby is born who will answer any questions, help you out with chores, give you an ear if you need to vent, and even watch your baby so you can sleep. If you’ve been considering hiring one as you prepare for your baby, I would love to tell you about the best Orlando doulas!
The Mothered Momma Doula was started by April Dawn, a birth professional with over 30 years of experience. April is passionate about providing holistic help and has experience in chiropractic, naturopathic, and nutritional health. April works as a birth doula, a breastfeeding educator, and a massage therapist. She provides placenta encapsulation, childbirth education, and labor teas.
New Blossom Maternity is a doula practice that was started by Gina Aleman, an educator with over 10 years of experience. Gina’s goal is to be an advocate for everybody. She knows that Black parents and people of color have often been disenfranchised by the birth world, and she’s on a mission to correct this. Gina provides birth and postpartum doula support as well as birth education and newborn sleep classes. You can receive her help from anywhere in the country with her virtual services or exclusively in the Orlando area for her in-person guidance.
Orlando Doulas prides itself on providing incredible services for families all across the city. All of the doulas have been certified and are ready to care for you through any situation. They provide premier childbirth classes to make sure you feel prepared for once labor begins. You can also use them as a support person throughout your labor or at any point throughout the postpartum stage. Because the agency has quite a few doulas on retainer, you’ll be able to have a consultation and choose the one that’s best for your family.
Orlando Doula was started by Dianne Clark in 1990. The organization has no affiliation with Orlando Doulas but has a similar mission of providing unrelenting support to families throughout pregnancy and labor. The agency now has several certified doulas in addition to Dianne. The group focuses specifically on labor support. You’ll have several meetings before your due date, and they’ll be there for you as soon as possible once labor starts. You’ll also receive a postpartum check-in. While the group does not provide postpartum doulas or lactation consultants, they are more than happy to refer you to some of the best around!
If you’ve been looking for a professional who will ensure you are mentally and emotionally equipped to have a baby, check out these fabulous Orlando doulas! Through these organizations, I am positive you’ll find someone who will give you the support you need.
